Choose your trip in Namibia
How to choose your trip to Namibia?
Namibian geography imposes long distances and therefore consistent travel durations. For a first trip, a circuit of 9 to 12 days allows you to combine the south with Sossusvlei, the coast around Swakopmund and Etosha National Park without rushing. If you wish to add Damaraland with its desert elephants, the engravings of Twyfelfontein or venture towards Kaokoland with the Himba people, plan rather 13 to 17 days. Beyond three weeks, the Caprivi Strip and an extension towards Victoria Falls become possible. Our team in Windhoek proposes balanced regional combinations based on your interests.
Different types of circuits
Our itineraries come in several forms. Cultural circuits emphasize encounters with the Himba communities of Kunene, the Damara villages of Twyfelfontein and the German colonial heritage of Swakopmund and Lüderitz. Adventure circuits favor bivouacs in the desert, hiking in Naukluft or Fish River Canyon, and 4x4 self-drive on challenging tracks. For family trips, we adapt the itinerary with lodges welcoming children, short activities and a pace that manages long driving days.
What is the best season?
The dry season, from April to October, offers the best conditions for wildlife and driving. May to August bring clear skies and daytime temperatures of 22-25°C, but nights drop to 0-5°C in the desert and around Etosha, bring warm clothing. September and October mark peak viewing at Etosha when animals concentrate at waterholes, with afternoons reaching 35°C. The short rainy season, from January to March, greens the landscapes and brings young animals, at a more accessible rate.
